WestSSUP Takes 1st and 2nd at 2013 Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon

The 2013 Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon hosts their annual skateboard race allowing Street SUP to race in their own division! WestSSUP was excited to represent the sport of Street SUP on the national longboarding stage that is the Adrenalina. While Nina was set on the 1 lap race, Riders Deejay and Jeremiah set a goal to complete the marathon in 2 hours, which would mean averaging over 12 mph for the duration of the race. For some, averaging 12 mph was thought to be impossible.

The chilly, mist filled morning accompanied the racers assembled on San Diego's Fiesta Island. There were sponsor tents and remote controlled drones flying through the air, then the race was off! Keifer Dixon takes the early lead, while Deejay sets a blistering 20 min/lap pace averaging 13 mph, a pace that Jeremiah cannot maintain and he eventually drops to slower 12 mph pace. This was a great opportunity for WestSSUP to progress the boundaries of Street SUP racing!

Deejay takes first place with a time of 2 hours 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Jeremiah follows up with a time of 2 hours 11 minutes and change!

Until next year!
